GARY STEINFIELD
Principal
Gary Steinfield is the founding principal of BlueVista Properties, a real estate investment and development company specializing in residential, commercial & mixed use properties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Mr. Steinfield brings over 30 years of real estate experience in assembling and coordinating highly talented development and finance teams to successfully complete a broad range of development and redevelopment projects.
Prior to starting BlueVista Properties, Mr. Steinfield served as a Senior Vice President at Tarragon Development Corporation, a New York City-based real estate company specializing in high density condominium communities. In this position, Mr. Steinfield had responsibility for broadening the company’s development portfolio in the New York metropolitan area. At Tarragon, Mr. Steinfield oversaw the company’s New Jersey development and redevelopment operations.
Immediately prior to joining Tarragon, Mr. Steinfield was a Vice President with AvalonBay Communities where he directed the REIT’s multifamily development activity on Long Island, NY and throughout northern and central New Jersey. While with AvalonBay, Mr. Steinfield was involved in the development of more than 2,000 apartment homes representing an aggregate development value of approximately $250,000,000.
Before joining AvalonBay, Mr. Steinfield directed a Philadelphia-based development company specializing in urban adaptive re-use projects combining the federal historic rehabilitation and affordable housing tax credit programs and creating long-term affordable housing opportunities. He was also involved with the substantial rehabilitation and conversion of the former 1200-room Benjamin Franklin Hotel in Philadelphia into a 416-unit mixed-use apartment, office and retail building. Mr. Steinfield earned an MBA from New York University and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
